Lodge on the Lake

We had a fun weekend, but for the price, the hotel wasn't a big part of that positive. I'm fine with decor being dated somewhat, as the kids didn't care. Everything seemed clean enough, although no one came to our room during our multi-day stay to clean or replenish anything. Also, YES, the walk to the park was VERY long. I'm guessing maybe Covid impacted this? We walked by a bunch of potential places we COULD have entered the park, had they not been locked up tight, but instead had to proceed to the very "top" of the park up by the Motocoaster. It's a long walk, and I will say really dark when you walk back after the rides close down. I was with a group but would have felt uncomfortable walking back alone, for sure. Sure, I expected typical inflated prices at the little cafe window at the hotel - but admit my eyes bugged out a bit when I ordered two of the breakfast sandwiches one morning from the little turnstile, and the total came to $18-something! :o At least they said they were fairly tasty. Everyone was friendly and helpful in the hotel and the pool looked nice, as well. The Atari system in the fort 'o fun was pretty awesome, I admit! :) Overall, we paid like $220 a night and that was with all of us already having season passes. So not a great deal, but the kids enjoyed themselves, and there was a little fridge and a microwave, as well as a coffee maker in the room, so you could easily bring some snacks to cook up to save some money. IF you were willing to make the trek back to the hotel!

I have been coming to Darien Lake for over 20 years. The trailers are perfect for a small family. The beds are a little uncomfortable but it’s a trailer so it’s to be expected. We bring a mattress topper with us and that helps. Location is great and a 5 minute walk to the park. My only negative is they have recently stopped offering park passes with your camping. Previously the passes were included with the fee you pay to camp. Now you have to buy them separately.

Rooms were clean and quiet. The staff was very friendly and courteous.

Was pleasantly surprised with our room. Stayed for one night while they were closed; they had a deal on for a concert I was attending. The wall to the concert was about 15 mins to the Darien amphitheater. A bit pricey for what it was but very convenient. Bed was clean and comfy, room was exactly what we needed. Would stay again! Wish the pool was open tho :)

Friendly staff. Always seems to be something "down" when I come. Computers, gates, some system or key card issues. Other then that, Pool is great, Lifeguards. Place is clean and fun. Nothing around though. No restaurants, etc. You got to go in the park to eat. A small "store" in lobby. Rooms are spacious. Cool trails to campground and park. Bottom line, fun relaxing place, pricey for what it is

Would have been 5 stars if I hadn't realized that the cabin comes unfurnished. I miss that fine print. Probably should make that bigger. Other than that great place next to the park.

Overall a nice experience. Yes the rooms are dated but mostly clean. i didn't notice it until the end, but my pillow sheet and bottom sheet had small blood stains on them. Still alive though. One positive is the wonderful cheerfulness of the entire staff. You feel appreciated.

The staff are exceptionally helpful and nice. I found the grounds really clean - surprisingly clean 'cause it includes the camp grounds where we stayed. Included admission the the theme park is great and much less crowded than the alternative just north of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. We went with a 3 and 5 year old and there was lots for them to do. There is a water park, rides and plenty of places to eat. A great experience!
